BLEAHU, Rev. Fr. Remus, was deposed from the Priesthood, and his name was removed from the ranks of the clergy of the Orthodox Church in America by the Holy Synod of Bishops, effective November 16, 2017.

CARSTEA, V. Rev. Fr. Gheorghe, was deposed from the Priesthood, and his name was removed from the ranks of the clergy of the Romanian Episcopate and the Orthodox Church in America by the Holy Synod of Bishops, effective November 16, 2017.

As per the directive from the Holy Synod of Bishops: As laymen, Remus Bleahu and Gheorghe Carstea possess no spiritual, canonical, secular or material authority of any kind or character; and, they are not allowed to visit parishes within the Episcopate or the Orthodox Church in America; nor are they permitted to involve themselves in any way in the material or spiritual affairs of those parishes. They are also forbidden to involve themselves in any way, directly or indirectly, in the internal or external matters of the Episcopate or its parishes or those of any other Orthodox jurisdiction or parish or in the lives of any parishioners of those parishes, including having contact with parish clergy.
