Holy Virgin Mary Cathedral here will host Maestro Vladimir Gorbik, Choirmaster of the Holy Trinity-Saint Sergius Lavra Moscow Representation Church and Rector of the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music [PaTRAM] Institute, for a three-day intensive master class in Orthodox liturgical singing August 22-24, 2017.
“Mr. Gorbik will offer his inimitable instruction on the theme, ‘The Performance and Interpretation of Orthodox Sacred Choral Music,’” said Archpriest Nazari Polataiko. Rector. “The event will be the first of its kind to be offered in southern California, and we invite everyone to learn from one of the very best Orthodox Church choir conductors in the world!”
During the past few years, similar gatherings have been held at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery, South Canaan, PA; Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, NY; and elsewhere.
