On Saturday, October 16, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Prophet Elias in Battle Creek, Michigan on the occasion of the parish’s semi centennial. His Grace was co-served by Dean of the Central States, Archpriest Roman Star; parish rector, Archpriest Lawrence Bacik, as well as clerics of the Patriarchal Parishes and other local jurisdictions.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop John congratulated the parish with the momentous occasion. In honor of the 30th wedding anniversary of Fr. Lawrence and his matushka, Bishop John presented them with an Archpastoral Gramota. Numerous pillar-members of the parish were also presented with archpastoral gramotas.
Interaction between the clergy and faithful continued during a festive banquet marking the occasion.
